  1. Hi, beautiful name choice. I’ve been Daria my whole life (pardon my parents’ misspelling). An Iranian exchange student translated it for me in high school. I still have a valentine’s day card (somewhere) he also wrote me, in farsi, still untranslated 25 years later…

  2. πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ …actually I have seen it spelled that way as well πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ so cute πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ If you ever wanna get the translation of that card, i’m here πŸ˜€

  3. hey Darya,

thanx for translating Geryeh konaam yaa nakonaam on Persian Soul–loved it!! The only place a foreign farsi learner like me could find it. Thanx Again πŸ™‚

P.s Do you know if I can find the anglicised lyrics anywhere, so I can” attempt” word by word translation?

  4. Glad you liked it. I did a quick google serach but could find the anglicized lyrics (transliteration) for this specific song. If you like I could write it up for you.

If you are interested in other Persian songs, i came across these sites:

If you are specifically looking for Geryeh Konaan yaa nakonaam, i can email the lyrics to you. My email is naaq8@yahoo.com

  5. Hi, I just came across your blog, I recently lost my mom to cancer 5 may 2010 she was only 56 years old, I myself am a cancer survivor and its ironic as we were both diagnosed within a few months of each other.. Id give anything to have her back 😦 I miss her so.
Anyway, I love your writing.. keep it going..
